Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic, Street Bob and Low Rider (2025-2026) recall: rear brake line
On April 16, 2026, Transport Canada published a recall notice for the following motorcycles. If you own one of these models, here is what you need to know.
Affected models
- Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic: 2025, 2026
- Harley-Davidson Softail Street Bob: 2025, 2026
- Harley-Davidson Softail Low Rider: 2025, 2026
The issue
On certain motorcycles, the rear brake line could become damaged by contact with the body control module (BCM). Over time, this could lead to a brake fluid leak and cause reduced braking.
Safety risk
Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash.
What to do
Harley-Davidson will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to replace the BCM bracket. The dealer will also inspect and, if necessary, replace the rear brake line.
To find out whether your motorcycle is affected, contact a Harley-Davidson dealer with your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy.
