Honda CB1000SP (2025) recall: possible engine failure
On December 18, 2025, Transport Canada published a recall notice for the following motorcycle. If you own this model, here is what you need to know.
Affected models
- Honda CB1000SP: 2025
The issue
On certain motorcycles, the engine may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, there could be increased oil consumption. Under certain conditions, this could cause the engine to fail and the rear wheel to lock up while riding.
Safety risk
A rear wheel that locks up suddenly could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.
What to do
Honda will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to inspect the engine. The engine will be replaced, if necessary. For motorcycles that don't require an engine replacement, the final corrective actions are under development.
To find out whether your motorcycle is affected, contact a Honda dealer with your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy.
